Overview

Punjab Institute of Agriculture Marketing has been established in 2006 by the Government of the Punjab for the Capacity Building of stakeholders of Agriculture Marketing which remained dysfunctional for two years (August 2014 - November 2016).

Revival of PIAM in November 2016 was triggered with dire need of capacity building that was reflected through different field visits, inspection reports, deliberations in meetings and feedback from field formation.

A training needs assessment was planned in 2018-19 to increase operation efficiency and effectiveness of PIAM and develop a viable model for service/trainings delivery / capacity building in areas which at present are most needed by department staff within the ambit and scope of PIAM. Training Needs Assessment (TNA) is used to assess an organization’s training needs for achieving its goals. The root of the TNA is the gap analysis. This is an assessment of the gap between the knowledge, skills and attitudes that the people in the organization currently possess and the knowledge, skills and attitudes that they require to meet the organization's objectives.
